Kamewa® tunnel thrusters are fitted to a wide range
of vessels. The tunnel thruster is designed to give
maximum side force to the ship in manoeuvring condition.
The system normally consists of thruster unit with tunnel,
hydraulic equipment, remote control and electric drive
motor with starter.
Kamewa tunnel thrusters are available with CP or FP
propellers
There are four different versions:
- Standard type (AUX): Auxiliary use only, limited
hours per year.
- Continuous service (DPN): used for shallow draught
vessels. Ideal for Offshore Patrol Vessel’s.
- High ice class version (ICE): stainless steel, CP
propeller only, meets ice class rules.
- Continuous service (DPD): used for deeper draught
vessels. Ideal for drill ships or shuttle tankers.
