Kamewa® tunnel thrusters are fitted to a wide variety
of vessels operating in all corners of the world. The
tunnel thruster is designed for giving maximum side
force to the vessel in manoeuvring condition.
Thrusters are available in both controllable pitch
(CP) and fixed pitch (FP). Rolls-Royce offer the following
options in tunnel thrusters:
The system normally consists
the thrusters unit with tunnel, hydraulic equipment,
remote control and electrical drive motor with starter.
A typical installation consists of a thrusters unit
with double mounted tunnel, hydraulic equipment, remote
control and electric drive motor and starter. For ease
of maintenance, the thrusters design permits the drive
shaft seal to be changed without removing the electric
motor.
