AIDAvita cruise ship, built at Aker MTW in 2002 for Costa Crociere has Kamewa fixed pitch propellers
Fixed pitch

Rolls-Royce has many years of experience in the design of fixed pitch propellers (FPP). The characteristics of our Bird-Johnson™ and Kamewa® FPPs provide good fuel economy, low vibration/noise levels and minimal cavitation. They are usually individually designed for the specific vessel to deliver the optimum in propeller efficiency.

Fixed Pitch Propeller: the cylindrical bore ensures rapid interchange of operating propeller and spare propeller

Features and benefits

  • Improved materials for longer life and easier maintainability
  • Greater hydrodynamic efficiency
  • Model testing in own facilities
  • Tailored designs for optimum propeller efficiency
