The Bergen K with 250mm bore and 300mm stroke is available
as a diesel in 6,8 and 9 cylinder in-line configurations
for propulsion and auxiliary duties. The diesel power
range is from 1215-2005 kW.

Bergen KVGS-G4 gas engine generator set similar to those that will power Norwegian gas-fuelled coastal ferries
Also available as a gas engine for powers from 1190
– 3970kW the Bergen K-G4 lean burn gas engine
is the result of careful development based on the highly
successful K type diesel and heavy fuel oil engine parent.
Features and benefits:
- Rigid crankcase minimises deformations and ensures
good main bearing alignment
- BMEP 20-22 bar (gas engine 18bar)
- Low wear and long component life
- Low lub oil consumption approx 0.8g/kWh
- Low specific fuel consumption 193-196 g/kWh (8060kj/kWh
gas) due to latest turbocharger design and modern
fuel injection technology
The lean burn principle of the K-G4 gas engines operation
is unique in its combination of high power and high
efficiency coupled with reduced exhaust emissions, and
delivers a specific fuel consumption of 7990-8060kj/kWh.
The engine has a design life of more than 20 years
and engines are installed in more than 150 power plants
throughout the world.
