The Busan operation allows Rolls-Royce to expand its commercial marine operations, providing customers with a local service backed with Rolls-Royce expertise.
The company's building houses a centre for marketing and sales as well as a 3,400 square metre operations facility which carries out assembly, test, surface treatment and quality control of commercial marine equipment.
Rolls-Royce Regional Director Birger Myklebust said: "This investment reflects the fast-growing market stimulated by the world's largest shipbuilding country. The location is ideal for the airport, city centre and planned new main commercial port due to be in operation in 2003.
"We provide around 700 merchant marine deck machinery winches a year and we are now providing Brown Brothers stabilisers and expect to continue to expand our range of products next year."
