MEE technologies

LibertyWorks™ is applying increased emphasis on more electric engines (MEE), integrated thermal management, hypersonics, advanced turbomachinery and unique prognostics/sensors.

We are installing an Integral Starter/Generator (ISG) in a fighter engine front frame and demonstrating it in a full-size magnetic bearing test rig. In addition we have tested an Low Pressure (LP) generator on an AE 3007 engine to demonstrate Global Hawk technology.

Far term technologies include:

• Oil free using magnetic bearings
• Electric fuel pumps
• Electric vane actuation
• External gearbox not required
