Rolls-Royce Dart and Spey engines entered service on Fokker F27,Fokker F28, and the YS-11 with the predecessor of Korean Air in the early 1960s, resulting in Korean Air having the longest relationship with Rolls-Royce since 1963.

Today Korean Air and Asiana Airlines operate aircraft powered by Tay and V2500 engines. Korean Air flies Fokker 100s powered by the Tay and Asiana Airlines has Airbus A321 aircraft powered by the V2500 engine produced by International Aero Engines, in which Rolls-Royce is a major shareholder.

Rolls-Royce is a leader in engines for corporate/business aircraft, and Samsung/Hanjin operate a Bombardier Global Express powered by the BR710 and a Gulfstream G450 powered by the Tay.

In addition, civil operators use a number of Rolls-Royce powered helicopters, primarily Bell 206s powered by the Model 250 engine.

In total, there are more than 110 Rolls-Royce civil aero engines in service in Korea and Samsung Techwin is the exclusive, worldwide supplier of combustor modules for Rolls-Royce Trent 900 engines for the Airbus A380.
