Rolls-Royce has been active in Korea for more than 40 years since 1963, when it established ties with Korean Air. At present, more than 500 Rolls-Royce engines are powering at least 350 aircraft operated by Korean Air, Asiana Airlines, as well as the Korean Armed Forces.

Rolls-Royce plc. has its regional office in Seoul, and a marine business unit in Busan. Its marine equipment plant in Busan handles manufacturing of equipment, such as deck machinery, in addition to assembly, test marketing, and maintenance services. With more than 100 employees, this plant serves as the regional headquarter of the Marine Business Division located in Northeast Asia, and is supplying products to Korean and Japanese shipbuilders.

Seoul

After advancing into Korea in the 1960s, Rolls-Royce established local service offices in several areas. Rolls-Royce officially established a regional branch in Seoul in 1992 in tandem with a rise in demand for various business areas and to raise awareness of the Rolls-Royce Group in Korea. The Seoul branch is located near the Korea Chamber of Commerce & Industry in Seosomun-dong.

Busan

The Marine Business Division of Rolls-Royce in Busan is a leader in designing, developing, and supplying products and integrated systems as well as relevant services to merchant ship companies and the navy forces all over the world. It consists of around 90 employees. It operates a marine equipment plant that is in charge of manufacturing equipment, such as deck machinery, as well as assembly, test marketing, and maintenance services. Products manufactured here are released in the Korean market and also exported to Japan.

Rolls-Royce owns world-renowned product bands, such as Bird Johnson, Kamewa, Aquamaster, Syncrolift, Michell, Rauma Brattvaag, Frydenbo, and Tenfjord. It develops and supplies gas turbines, variable pitch propellers, water jets, thrusters, bearings, machinery control systems, syncrolift and ship machinery technology.
