Rolls-Royce is a global leader in marine integrated and propulsion systems with equipment on over 30,000 vessels. The business has 2500 customers, including 70 navies around the world.

India represents an important customer and operating marine base for Rolls-Royce in the Asia Pacific region, where over 80 percent of global commercial shipbuilding takes place. In India, over 53 Rolls-Royce UT™ designed vessels are in service with a further 18 under construction. In addition to this, 345 vessels are operating with Rolls-Royce Marine equipment, in India today. There are 3 Syncrolift sites in India. Rolls-Royce marine customers also include the Indian Navy and Coast Guard which operate over 30 vessels.

In 2008, Rolls-Royce opened a new Marine MRO facility located at Navi Mumbai. This new facility is equipped to implement comprehensive repair and overhaul work in the region and manufacture switch boards and control consoles. The facility also serves as a centre for application engineering.
