Protecting our environment

We care for the environment through our commitment to the good practice described in the Rolls-Royce Health, Safety & Environment Management System.

We are committed to improving the efficiency and environmental performance of our products and to achieve this, we invest significant sums in research into new technologies and the development of improved products. We aim to reduce the environmental impact of the whole life cycle of our products, including raw material extraction, manufacturing, assembly, testing, in-service maintenance and final disposal. We work with others in the industries in which we operate to address sustainability issues.

We seek continual improvement in all our operations by implementing our Health, Safety & Environment Management System and related standards. All new activities are assessed for their environmental impact and their health and safety implications. We pursue improvement targets in such areas as energy and waste reduction, and recycling. Our reporting on Health, Safety & Environment matters, including our progress against declared targets, is independently assured and we provide public reports on an annual basis.
