Introduction
The Rolls-Royce Bergen lean-burn gas engine is an
advanced, clean and efficient unit that meets the most
stringent demands for environmentally conscious electrical
power generation systems.
It has undergone progressive technical development
since its arrival in the power generation marketplace
in the early 1990s. Today, the advantages provided by
its lean-burn combustion using pre-chamber ignition
maintain the engine’s position as the class leader
in a worldwide market that increasingly demands high
efficiency processes using environmentally friendly
fuels.
The latest version, the KV-G4, producing between 2400
and 3640kW in 12, 16 and 18 cylinder versions, has changed
the modern gas engine business by achieving higher efficiency
compared with earlier spark-ignited gas engines, while
also bringing down Nox emissions to new reduced levels.
