Rolls-Royce specialises in providing worktable tool delivery systems that complement our retubing tool carriers in the refurbishment of CANDU reactors.
These worktable tool delivery systems operate at the reactor face through all stages of the re-tubing operation. At their heart is a set of powered platforms, that traverse up and down the face of the reactor. Each platform can access any channel site in a given row. Sliding doors in the shielding enclosure gain access to channel sites for tools mounted on the platform.
As part of its supply agreement Rolls-Royce has developed a complex mock-up to simulate all operating and design conditions to help train, improve and justify procedures before application on site.
