Rolls-Royce wins compressor contract for new Russian-European Nord Stream gas pipeline
Rolls-Royce wins Trent 60 contract to power Nickel mine in New Caledonia
Two of Central Europe’s leading electrical power providers are the first customers in the region for Rolls-Royce Trent 60 generating sets, which will provide peak-time electrical power to Bratislava in Slovakia and to Prostejov in the Czech Republic.
Rolls-Royce and British Airways today announced the start of a scientific test programme to investigate the viability of alternative fuels for the aviation industry.
Rolls-Royce has won a breakthrough contract in the expanding Arctic exploration and production offshore market. It is to supply mooring equipment for two ice-class drilling rigs to be operated in the Shtokman field, one of the world’s largest natural gas fields, in the Russian sector of the Barents Sea. The contract value is about £10 million.
Rolls-Royce said today that gas compression and power generation units for Thailand’s third gas pipeline master plan, covering a total of 11 onshore and offshore projects, will be delivered in the first quarter of 2009.
Brazilian oil and gas company, Petrobras, is due to receive three Rolls-Royce RB211-G62 electrical generating sets for its new Caraguatatuba gas receiving and treatment station in the fourth quarter of this year.
A new gas turbine compression set and compressor upgrade, scheduled to be operational by the end of 2009, will increase the number of Rolls-Royce RB211 gas turbine compressor packages on China’s West-East Gas Pipeline Project (WEPP) to 16.
Rolls-Royce announced today at the Power-Gen Europe show in Milan that customers in eight countries had selected Trent 60 engines, including orders for three additional Trent 60 electrical generating sets from two existing customers in Belgium and Australia.
Rolls-Royce has received two new contracts from paper manufacturers in Spain and Portugal for RB211 aero-derivative gas turbine-powered electrical generating sets to be used in co-generation plants. The units are also covered by ten-year TotalCare® service agreements.
Rolls-Royce today announced a new order from the Brazilian state oil company, Petrobras, for an additional four gas turbine power generation packages valued at $73 million for use on a new offshore platform.

Rolls-Royce has received an order from Siemens Industrial Turbomachinery, Inc. to supply natural gas compressors for the Petrobras Gasene pipeline.
