Rolls-Royce is developing relationships with a number of universities worldwide

Germany

In December 2006 we opened our latest University Technology Centre in Darmstadt, Germany. This UTC will specialise in the aerothermal interaction between the combustor and turbine. This discipline shapes the engine's environmental performance, which is an increasingly vital driver for the aerospace industry of today and tomorrow.

In March 2006 we launched a University Technology Centre at Dresden University in Germany to study the important technology field of lightweight structures and materials.

In April 2005 we opened a Multidisciplinary Process Integration UTC led by Professor Arnold Kühhorn at the Brandenberg Technical University in Cottbus.

In 2002 we signed a Prime University Partnership agreement with the German Aerospace Centre (DLR - Deutsches Zentrum fur Luft- und Raumfahrt) situated in Cologne. The work in DLR will focus on combustion and compressors and is being led by Professor Reinhard Mönig.

We are also developing relationships with universities in Aachen, Karlsruhe, Stuttgart and Munich.
