Secondary Power System for Tornado
To avoid reliance on ground equipment, Tornado
aircraft are equipped with a Secondary Power System
(SPS), that supplies the aircraft with hydraulic
and electrical power for ground service. Furthermore
the main engines are started by the SPS. The main
components (two accessory gearboxes and the APU)
were developed by Rolls-Royce Deutschland in Oberursel
for the Tornado Multi Role Combat Aircraft. |
