Over 4,500 engines made in Brandenburg are currently in service worldwide. Rolls-Royce's customers include several large German airlines. Lufthansa's Airbus A340-500 and -600 aircraft are fitted with Rolls-Royce Trent 500 engines. The high-pressure compressor in the Trent 500 engine was developed by Rolls-Royce Deutschland. Furthermore, Lufthansa selected the Trent 900 engine to power its new Super-Jumbo, the Airbus A380.

In Arnstadt, Thuringia Rolls-Royce founded the N3 Engine Overhaul Services joint venture together with Lufthansa Technik.
