WIEMERSMÜHLE (WIEMER's MILL)

1883

The Seck brothers of Westerburg built an iron foundry and machine factory, concentrating on roller mill construction, on the Wiemersmühle site. As the company was already established in Darmstadt, local operations were moved there as well. A roofing felt factory was operated on the former site of the mill until 1890, subsequent to which work was begun on construction of the Oberursel factory for the building of combustion engines.

1876
Phillip Modrow of Frankfurt acquired the property and turned it into a chicken farm. After five years he went bankrupt.

1847
Friedrich Wiemer's grinding mill by the River Urselbach is mentioned for the first time.
