Vessel General Permit (VGP) requirements
In March 2013, the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) issued a final Vessel General Permit (VGP) regulating discharge from commercial vessels in order to protect the nation’s water from ship discharges and reduce invasive species in US waters. The new VGP will be valid from the 19th December 2013 and replaces the current VGP (2008 VGP).

Under the new VGP a range of equipment is affected by discharges from oil-to-sea interfaces as well as cathodic protection.
The operator can request from Rolls-Royce Marine a letter regarding their status to meet the VGP-requirements, by contacting the 24/7 Technical Support department and supplying appropriate details using the form provided.
