Rolls-Royce has had a presence in Singapore for more than 50 years and has expanded its presence, recognising the opportunities and advantages Singapore presents with its location, developed infrastructure and highly-skilled workforce.
Rolls-Royce continues to be committed to Singapore and has chosen the country as a strategic hub for business and manufacturing facilities.
Rolls-Royce’s regional corporate headquarters are situated in Singapore and all four major business sectors are strongly represented.
Singapore is home to the global headquarters of the Group’s Marine business and the regional headquarters of its Asia-Pacific Energy business.
In 2012, we opened the 154,000 square metre Rolls-Royce Seletar Campus at Seletar Aerospace Park, the largest aerospace facility in Singapore and the Group’s largest in Asia. It includes a Trent aero engine Assembly and Test Unit; a Wide Chord Fan Blade manufacturing facility; an Advanced Technology Centre; and a Regional Training Centre. When fully operational the facility will create approximately 500 new jobs, bringing the total number of employees in Singapore to over 2,000.
Rolls-Royce has also established highly successful joint venture partnerships in Singapore, primarily with Singapore Airlines Engineering Company Limited (SIAEC). These include Singapore Aero Engine Services Limited (SAESL) and International Engine Components Overhaul (IECO), both of which provide complete maintenance, repair and overhaul services to major regional and global carriers.
We have also established a state-of-the-art Marine service workshop, close to the R&O shipyards in Tuas, Singapore where, marine engineers are able to repair, overhaul and upgrade the entire Rolls-Royce marine product range, including diesel, all propulsion products and deck machinery.
