One of the key features of professional development
is the partnership between the company and educational
establishments around the world.
In order to develop our specialists and managers we
work with designated ‘centres of excellence’
on programmes that combine leading-edge thinking with
current best practice.
We encourage universities around the world to work
together in support of company learning requirements.
Rolls-Royce works with the education sector at all levels
to:
- help raise standards in education
- promote engineering, science and technology
- influence and support government policy and strategy
- raise the profile of the company as a place potential
employees would choose to join.
The teaching of science and engineering is close to
our hearts. We donate money and time to helping schools
deliver these subjects and also to bring business and
entrepreneurial skills into the classroom.
In several places across the world we provide mentoring
for head teachers and resources to help teachers deliver
the curriculum. Teachers can participate in Rolls-Royce
activities or industrial placements to help their professional
development.
We respond to government consultation on education.
Company representatives regularly speak at national
and international conferences on education and training
and participate in government-sponsored committees.
