Description
As a part of the famous Model 250 family, the first
317shp Model 250-B15 turboprop has grown with the core
engine into a family of highly successful engines for
light fixed-wing aircraft, culminating in today's 450shp
Model 250-B17F.
The Model 250 turboprop has found popularity due to
its small size and high power-to-weight ratio, which
make it ideal for Original Equipment Manufacture Type
Certified designs and for Supplemental Type Certificate
conversions of existing piston-engined designs. Over
1,200 Model 250 turboprops have now been produced, with
over 5 million flight hours.
These lightweight, high-power Rolls-Royce turboprop
engines operate on all certified aircraft fuels, a feature
favored by operators taking them into remote regions
of the world. Their legendary reliability combined with
vibration free turbine smoothness gives an easy ride
to both the passengers and the airframe components.
Often cutting internal cabin noise levels by over 10
dBA, pilots and passengers of Model 250 turboprop powered
aircraft find themselves conversing in normal levels
and without headsets!
The Model 250 turboprop enjoys the same world-class
global support as the turboshaft family, and benefits
from a continuous improvement culture which has seen
the Model 250 remain at the forefront of small gas turbine
engine design.
The latest generation Model 250-B17F turboprop is common
to the Model 250-C20R+ turboshaft, and develops 450shp.
The Model 250 turboprop has been gaining popularity,
with approximately 20 current applications, including
the Fuji T-7 trainer, B-N Group Defender, O&N Cessna
P210 Silver Eagle, Soloy Cessna MkII 206 and Tradewinds
Turbine Bonanza.
