Rolls-Royce is the world's number one engine maker
for business jets with a 34 per cent market share in
2005 (by value).
Rolls-Royce and partners powered more than 200 of more
than 700 business jets delivered in 2005 and 1,800 operators
with 2,600 business jets rely on engines.
Rolls-Royce has been a key player in the business
jet market since the late 1950s. During the 1990s corporate
aircraft deliveries tripled and Rolls-Royce secured
its position as the world number one in the sector,
designing and building a new generation of efficient
and reliable engines for pioneering aircraft.
The number of business jet applications powered by
Rolls-Royce, including joint-venture engines,
has increased from one to 13 in the last decade. The
company and its partners now have the distinction of
powering the world's fastest, longest range, largest
and lightest business jets, plus a corporate jetliner.
This includes aircraft built by Airbus, Bombardier,
Cessna, Embraer, Gulfstream, Raytheon and Sino Swearingen.
