Fact sheet

The product of the multi-national consortium IAE International Aero Engines AG offers 22,000 to 33,000 lb thrust and is available for the A319, A320, A321 and Airbus Corporate Jetliner aircraft. The V2500 also powers the now out of production Boeing MD-90. Rolls-Royce is responsible for the manufacture of high-pressure compressors, fan blades and discs as well as the provision of engineering support and final assembly of 50 per cent of V2500 engines.

The latest build standard, V2500 SelectOne™, entered commercial service in October 2008 and offers up to four per cent better fuel burn performance than alternatives. The V2500 achieves improved payload and range. Superior performance retention leading to longer on-wing life is also a characteristic of the engine.

The V2500 is the environmental leader in its class, and is the greenest engine for the A320 family. The V2500 is the quietest engine available for the A319/A320/A321 and meets Chapter 4 noise limit for all aircraft weights without any modifications. Due to its superior fuel efficiency, the V2500 produces lower CO² emissions than competing engines.

In addition to standard ratings, IAE also offers the V2527E and V2527M ratings. The V2527E is an enhanced rating for the A320, which provides additional thrust at high altitude airports. The V2527M rating is used on A319 airliners and the A319 based Airbus Corporate Jetliner to enhance payload and range capabilities.
