Trent 7000 Making the best better

The Trent 7000 is the seventh generation of the market-leading Trent family of large engines, and is the exclusive engine for the Airbus A330neo. The Trent 7000 builds on the unrivalled reliability record of the Trent 1000 on the Boeing 787, the world's most efficient engine technology utilised by the Trent XWB, and the unsurpassed Trent 700 experience and market-leading position on the A330.

Just as the Trent 700 is the engine of choice on the A330, so the Trent 7000 has evolved to provide 10% better sfc, 10db less noise (less than half the sound energy of today's Trent 700) and the best revenue-earning capability.

The Trent 7000 is the latest addition to the Trent family – the customer's first choice in the modern, widebody market. It is also the most reliable large engine family and has more hours/experience than any other large gas turbine family

Building on the architecture, technology and experience of previous generations of the Trent family of large engines, the Trent 7000 has been developed to power the A330neo.

The engine has our latest, fully swept, wide-chord fan technology. This, together with the small, high pressure-ratio core, enables a bypass-ratio double that of the Trent 700, producing 10% sfc improvement and 10dB more noise margin.

New component technology is employed throughout the engine: examples include the blisk combined blade and disc design used in the compressors, and the ENABLES composite raft system used to mount engine dressings and accessories. Both these technologies reduce weight.

The Trent family’s unique 3 shaft design makes every Trent engine shorter, stiffer, lighter and more Foreign Object Damage (FOD) resistant than the equivalent 2 shaft engine. This results in significantly less performance deterioration and delivers additional through-life fuel savings.
