The Rolls-Royce site in Kristinehamn is a centre of excellence for the design and manufacture of a range of propulsion systems. These include fixed and controllable pitch propellers, water jets and pods used across a wide range of vessels in the offshore, merchant and naval sectors.
Around 400 people work on our two sites in Kristinehamn. The main production facility in Gustavsvik and the Hydrodynamic Research Centre in Höje (which houses two large cavitation tunnels) are used to test a wide range of propeller and impeller designs.
Each year Rolls-Royce invests over £800 million in research and development. And the marine research laboratories in Kristinehamn ensure that the company continues to develop the most innovative and environmentally efficient propulsion systems in existence.
