Mount Vernon

Rolls-Royce Energy Systems packaging facility is located in Mount Vernon, Ohio, approximately 50 miles from the state capital, Columbus. The facility has 275,000 square feet of manufacturing space. It’s responsible for the RB211 and Trent lines of industrial gas turbines, for both power and oil & gas generation, as well as for power turbine and compressor assembly.

The Mount Vernon site boasts two world-class testing facilities, including seven separate test bays which offer dedicated venting and sound abatement, as well as a separate control room for customer viewing. Engineers devise proprietary designs for power turbines and compressors, and are supported by a materials lab and a research and development facility. They also provide packaging designs for standard products destined for land-based power generation applications, as well as customised designs for oil & gas customers.

All told, Rolls-Royce has around 1,200 employees based in Mount Vernon, making us one of the largest employers in the area.
