Sunderland
Our Sunderland facility, which in 2006 saw an investment of £4 million in new machinery, is a centre of excellence for engine disk manufacturing. It includes aero, marine and industrial Trent and EJ200 engines, over half of which go to customers in Civil Aerospace.
Rolls-Royce is committed to further enhancing our high-value manufacturing capability, and so in 2016 we will transfer the Sunderland site to a new site in Washington, approximately three miles away. This new, purpose-built modern facility demonstrates our commitment to the 445 people who work for us in Sunderland, as well as to the North East region and our global aerospace customers.
