Oberursel
Founded in 1892, our Oberursel site has the longest continuing history in engine manufacturing in the entire Rolls-Royce Group. We manufacture high-tech components for numerous engine programmes, employing state-of-the-art production technology. We also maintain and overhaul small gas turbines for civilian and military applications, including the T53, Gnome SPS and T56.
Along with being a centre of competence for blisks, Oberursel is also where we do final assembly of the RTM322 engines, which are developed jointly by Rolls-Royce and Turbomeca for the Bundeswehr’s new NH90 helicopters. Other capabilities include complex NC programming methods and advanced machine and cutting tool technologies for production.
Rolls-Royce employs around 1,200 people in Oberursel and is the largest industrial company in town, as well as one of the top three employers. We have a strong commitment to the local community and are closely linked to the city’s economic and social development. In fact, Rolls-Royce development in Oberursel generates a €60 million turnover in the local supply chain, covering 450 companies across Hesse and the bordering regions.
