Manufacturing Insight Days

Manufacturing Insight Days

Rolls-Royce has a history of innovative achievements in high performance manufacturing, and a future that promises the same. To support our record order book of £62.2bn, we rely on recruiting bright and talented people to deliver on these promises. We are therefore offering the opportunity for selected final year degree students to explore why cutting edge manufacturing lies at the heart of what we do, and discover the role you could play.

Manufacturing Engineers ensure that the completed engine design can be delivered using our manufacturing, assembly and repair capabilities. They are responsible for developing state-of-the-art manufacturing processes and acquiring new capabilities, people, factories and machinery. Maintaining the quality and integrity of the production processes is critical whilst working close to the production environment and interacting on a daily basis with operators and fitters.

Our capabilities include some extraordinary components and range from advanced single crystal turbine blade manufacture to large production test beds. Each Manufacturing Insight day will give you the chance to see first-hand some of these state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities, learn about careers in manufacturing from key Rolls-Royce industry leaders and quiz current graduates and apprentices on life in Rolls-Royce.

You can also find out more about our Graduate Manufacturing Engineering Programmes here.

FAQs

Will my travel expenses be covered?

Rolls-Royce will reimburse all reasonable travel expenses incurred travelling to the Insight days, up to a maximum of £25 per person. Please come prepared with receipts and bank account details to enable us to process this smoothly. Help and information on travelling to the days will be sent to successful applicants.

Does attending an Insight day affect my application for a graduate scheme?

The Insight day is not a formal part of the application process and so attendees will not be assessed in any way. However, the days are designed to give you a taste of what manufacturing means to a company like Rolls-Royce and give you a chance to find out more about the opportunities we have for you. We believe this can only aid you in considering an application.

When will I find out if I have been accepted for an Insight day?

We aim to let you know if you are successful two weeks before the day, to give you enough time to plan your attendance. If we believe you are a high-calibre candidate but are not able to offer you a place initially, you may be placed on a reserve list and we will notify you if this is the case. If you are successful, we will ask you to confirm your attendance in advance of the day. Any spaces not taken up will be offered to the reserve list.

How long is the day?

The day begins at 10am and runs to approximately 4.30pm
