Professional excellence

Professional excellence means many things to many people. To us, it means learning your trade, becoming an expert in your chosen field, and providing the business with the specialist knowledge and experience that is essential to our success. It’s also a stepping-stone to a range of career paths covering management or technical roles.

The Professional Excellence programme is all about equipping you with the knowledge and skills to allow you to become a respected professional in your chosen area. Our structured 12-18 month programmes consist of several three-month rotations into different areas, where you’ll gain a wealth of experience and training, as well as support for achieving professional qualifications.

Learning & development
Our programmes are well known for the quality of experience that we give our graduates. Formal, off-the-job training courses will grow your technical knowledge and provide you with the skills you’ll need as you move on. In some cases, successful completion of a suite of training courses can lead to further qualifications. In any case, we’re very keen on professional development and you’ll be strongly encouraged to study and, where relevant, achieve Chartered status with the appropriate professional body.

You’ll have a mentor to provide guidance and to help you ensure you get the most from your placements. As well as your mentor, you’ll be guided by an Early Career Development Advisor (ECDA) whose role will be to help you gain the maximum benefit from your development programme.

Team based learning, such as community projects, is also a good opportunity to broaden your experience and apply your skills in a different environment. There’ll be some opportunities for international travel as well as the chance to prove yourself in a management position later on.

Training in quality, programme management and process improvement is included in every Professional Excellence programme, because these are essential to success in every role.
