With manufacturing, assembly and test facilities in
the UK, Europe, North America, and the Far East, Operations
Management covers a broad range of responsibilities,
from capacity planning and the effective implementation
of production plans, to the efficient delivery of finished
components and engines to our customers. We build strong
relationships with customers and suppliers, provide
visionary leadership for manufacturing teams, use effective
processes, coach new skills and bring teams together
to achieve higher levels of operational performance.

high quality products that meet customer needs, on time.

What Operations Management graduates
do
Operations Management links production with a number
of other disciplines such as Supply Chain Management,
Purchasing, Finance and Manufacturing Engineering. For
you this means plenty of opportunities to be involved
in a wide range of activities. Examples of the work
that our graduates have been involved in include:
- Designing the layout of a manufacturing cell in
one of our new factories and leading the transition
to full production
- Using innovative technology to design and deliver
leading-edge manufacturing engineering solutions
- Managing a production unit of approx. 90 people
- Developing and implementing improvement programmes
within facilities
- Strategic thinking to deliver cost reduction concepts
to be implemented across Rolls-Royce.
A suite of leadership development interventions are
provided to complement your role experiences. These
include technical and systems skills, programme management,
personal skills development and leadership skills.
The Operations Management programme is accredited to
the Institute of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) and the
Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET) and graduates
are encouraged to become Chartered Engineers. Operations
Management graduates also have the opportunity to work
towards a postgraduate qualification such as an MSc
in Operations Management.
