We're a global organisation in every sense, with customers in 120 nations, 40% of our workforce outside the UK - and operations in 50 countries. Our graduate and internship programmes take place worldwide, each destination offering its own selection of programmes. These include:
- Europe Finland, Germany, Norway, Poland, Sweden and UK.
- Asia-Pacific China, India and Singapore.
- North America Canada and US.
However, for most graduates, your career will begin in one of three main locations, detailed on the individual tabs.
Derby has been home to Rolls-Royce for more than 100 years, and is one of the company's main bases. Over 12,000 employees work in the city, predominantly in the civil aerospace divisions. With a number of business functions, including research and technology, manufacturing operations and business support services housed there, Derby is a great place to gain wide exposure to our organisation and engineering expertise. It’s also an affordable place to live, and while it’s close to the Peak District and the National Forest, it’s just two hours by train from central London.
Over 3,000 of our employees work in Bristol, across a number of businesses. These include defence aerospace, turbines, component services, marine and aero repair and overhaul. We have recently invested over £75m redeveloping our Bristol site as part of a nationwide investment in world-class operations and assembly facilities. Located in the south west of England, Bristol has good road, rail and air links, and is one of the UK's greenest cities.
The Rolls-Royce facility in Indianapolis is our largest manufacturing location in North America. The site is home to approximately 4,000 employees in two main facilities: a research, development and testing site of nearly one million square feet and a main production site of more than two million square feet. Employees in Indianapolis design, develop and manufacture products for the civil and defence aerospace markets. Indianapolis is a friendly, multicultural city, big enough to offer all the amenities and entertainment you could wish for, yet small enough to have a sense of friendly community.
