Project management

Whether we're developing new gas turbines, creating new manufacturing facilities or building power stations, sound project management ensures we deliver and always meet our customers' expectations - as well as our own.

You'll start with four, six-month placements, with various rotations - leading to a potential management role where you can build on what you've learned.

You'll gain experience across all sectors and regions of our business and the diversity and scale of projects is huge. You'll have the satisfaction of working on their full lifecycle - from scoping, planning and scheduling to resource, cost and risk management right through to the finished product.

Alongside knowledge acquisition, you'll undertake hands-on assignments to practice and apply this knowledge, developing your own skill sets. Towards the end of the development programme, you'll work towards gaining your APMP qualification - and after that you can choose to take the next stage (the APMPQ), and even study for a Masters in Project Management.

As well as a good bachelor's degree (2:1 achieved or expected), you'll need to demonstrate an understanding of Rolls-Royce – our goals and the context in which we operate.

In addition, we would expect you to have enjoyed some form of leadership role, whether at school, in a club or at university – and demonstrate strategic ability, great people skills and a strong attention to detail.

US students need an overall GPA of 3.0 or above. Other candidates will need the national equivalent of these qualifications (visit naric.org.uk for more on this).
