Second Year Law with Spanish, University of Sheffield

I applied for the award because I saw it as an exciting opportunity and a personal challenge through which I could showcase my skills and achievements. I chose the Female Undergraduate Award specifically because I believe it is important to have high achieving female role models to which other aspiring young women can relate to and be encouraged by. Through my education I was inspired by such individuals and therefore saw this as an opportunity to do the same. Furthermore, I was very interested in the internship with Rolls-Royce, as an invaluable opportunity to experience working inside a global company. Overall, it seemed an opportunity too good to miss and if successful, would be an extremely exciting and career enhancing way to spend my summer.

I'd love to win the award because it would give me a great sense of personal achievement and also the confidence to continue pursuing my future career ambitions. Furthermore, I would like to win because I recognise that the opportunity for an internship with Rolls-Royce is unique and highly sought after. Following my experiences at the assessment day, I have developed a genuine interest in the company, especially in its global outlook, and would like to take full advantage of the opportunity to find out more about working within it. The potential to be a female role model to other students is also really important to me, as I would like to encourage others by sharing my own experiences of being a female in the business world.
