Second Year, Management (International Business Economics), University of Manchester
I was so thrilled to be invited to be considered for the award. Through the whole process, which I must say was gruelling but extremely interesting, I believe I have developed incredibly and met a plethora of wonderful people.
The assessment process was a comprehensive and fulfilling experience. The assessors were extremely professional, while at the same time friendly and approachable and eased the atmosphere. The organisation of the event was impressive but I have to say the tour was one my favourite parts of the entire experience and exceeded all my expectations. Being given the chance to actually see engines in the making was wonderful. Overall, it has been a unique opportunity and I have been honoured to be part of it.
I'm aware there is a gender imbalance in the industry and Rolls-Royce taking a stance and supporting this award definitely contributed to my aspiration to win the Female Undergraduate of the Year Award and work for the company. Throughout this whole assessment process, I was given a little taste of what working for Rolls-Royce is like and I have learnt a great deal of things. All in all, I want to win this award because there is so much more to be learnt and I feel that Rolls-Royce has the best environment for learning and development.
