I applied for the FUGOY because I thought it was a great opportunity to visit Rolls-Royce and participate in a one of a kind assessment centre. I didn't even dream of coming this far! Now I realise how amazing an internship with Rolls-Royce would be...

The best part of the Rolls-Royce tour was seeing the new "Advance" composite blades in the flesh. I've studied a lot about carbon fibre in my Material Science course at university, and seeing this new technology being used in such an innovative way was really inspiring. Having done the tour really made me want to intern with Rolls-Royce; it made me realise how much of an innovative, challenging and performance driven company they were. I think spending the summer at Rolls-Royce would be a life changing opportunity allowing me to put all my hard-earned textbook knowledge to practice and to the test.

I really enjoyed meeting the other girls at the event, and will be really happy and proud of whoever wins this award, they all deserve it.
