The Big Bang UK Young Scientists' and Engineers' Fair - open to students aged 7-19 across the UK, this is the largest science and engineering fair in the UK. Rolls-Royce is one of a large number of STEM companies and organisations with exciting interactive STEM exhibition stands on the massive show floor. The 2015 show will be at the NEC in Birmingham, with 80,000 delegates expected.
Role models from the business (STEM Ambassadors, Governors, Early Career population) go out regularly into schools near to our major sites and to STEM events to provide hands-on STEM activities, workshops and projects.
School Governors: over 300 employees act as school governors in local UK schools. We run an annual Rolls-Royce School Governors' Fund which offers schools with a Rolls-Royce employee on their governing body the chance to bid for funding of up to £1,000 for STEM projects in their schools.
STEM Ambassadors - there are around 1,000 STEM Ambassadors in Rolls-Royce, of which 800 are in the UK, who undertake regular hands-on activities in schools to promote Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths.
