Technical Apprenticeship

As a Technical Apprentice, you’ll develop and refine your investigative and problem-solving abilities. By the time you reach the end of your three years, you'll have what it takes to face some of the world's toughest engineering challenges – something you could end up doing anywhere in the world, thanks to our vast global reach.

The first year of your apprenticeship is in an off-the-job environment and will give you a grounding in a wide variety of core technical and practical skills. You’ll gain these on placements that will provide you with a broad-based understanding of the engineering methods and technologies that we use within our business. Year two will see you widening and deepening this knowledge and then, in year three, you’ll be aligned to a specific role in the business you work in.

At the same time, you’ll be studying for recognised qualifications at college. In our Technical Apprenticeships, these will include a Level 3 SVQ or NVQ level 2 in Performing Engineering Operations and Level 3 in the appropriate discipline for your area. You will also gain Core/Function skills and a college certificate like a BTEC or VRQ. Beyond that, sponsorship for Higher Education qualifications like Higher National Certificates, Higher National Diplomas and Foundation Degrees may also be available once we know where your talents lie.
