We have an opportunity for a Head of Quality and Health Safety and Environment (HSE) to lead within our Raw Material and General Components Supply Chain Unit (SCU) in Derby.

 

As a Head of Quality and HSE you will lead and accelerate the quality and HSE assurance and improvement strategies of the Supply Chain Unit ensuring the agreed customer, regulator and business requirements are met.

 

The Raw Material and General Components Supply Chain Unit was formed in the recent Aerospace re-organisation. It covers a wide range of products including Rings, Fabrications, General Components, Raw Material and Service Providers, with a spend profile of £1 billion. We employ around 300 people based in the UK, USA, Germany and Asia and deal with over 300 suppliers across the globe. As the new organisation evolves the Head of Quality and HS and E will play a crucial role in accelerating the development and implementation of strategy as well as ensuring key customer, regulator and business requirements are met.

 

As a Head of Quality and HSE, you will lead and accelerate the quality and HSE assurance and improvement strategies of the Supply Chain Unit ensuring the agreed customer, regulator and business requirements are met.

 

Your main accountabilities will be to:

  • Deploy the Company and Supply Chain Quality and HSE Strategic Plans through the creation of an SCU. You will make sure that quality and HSE Strategic Plan in line with the strategic objectives, vision and mission.
  • Build strong, dependable relations with Customers, regulators, industry and other business functions.
  • Provide Production System support within the unit appropriate to the Strategic Plan and Business Plan Development.
  • Define, implement and maintain the quality system within the unit (including HS and E management elements).
  • Devise a strategy of Quality and HSE Education for all functions, at all levels of the Business Unit.
  • Deliver a Product Audit strategy that confirms compliance and supports continuous improvement.
  • Ensure the independence of the quality function within the business.
