An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Materials Engineer within Design Services to join the Materials Specifications, Data & Quality Team.
As a Materials Engineer you will be responsible for the Materials Data Life Cycle which consists of the management of mechanical materials test programmes, data analysis, gaining approval from the design data panel, releasing new design allowable to the engineering communities & distributing materials design changes to other Rolls-Royce' sites & 3rd parties.
In addition, Materials have embarked on a high profile programme to change the way materials information is controlled and delivered to its customers. The Materials Specifications, Data & Quality Team are implementing a new materials information system 'GrantaMI' on to the Rolls-Royce infrastructure to support all four sectors (Aerospace, Defence, Marine & Nuclear). This role will include the training & support to all engineering users, and the on-going development of the product.

- You will be heavily involved in the Materials Data Life Cycle - management of mechanical test programmes and data analysis.
- You will be significantly involved in the development of 'GrantaMI' and conduct user training and support engineers' utilisation of the new Materials Information System.
- You will be expected to liaise with specifications & data teams Globally, in RRC, RRD and suppliers such as QuEST in India; in-order to conduct, manage and deliver materials data analysis.
- You will also be expected to support and lead continuous improvement and cost reduction activities within Materials Specifications, Data & Quality.
