Service provides the technical interface with airline operators and overhaul shops. Working within a busy and dynamic environment, Service engineers support Civil RB211 and Trent in-service fleets, as well as the service introduction of the Trent 1000 and XWB fleets.

The engineers on this team work closely with all other engineering disciplines at a whole and sub-system level to ensure that in-service technical issues are resolved quickly. In driving technical solutions to these issues, they support their project zero team, which manages the continuous improvement in reliability of our products. Service engineers also lead high profile safety and reliability investigations. They work in integrated product teams to determine the root cause of in-service issues, and if a need for design change is identified, they support the gated design change process. Moreover, Service works closely with Customer Support to implement technical recommendations with minimal disruption to the flying fleet.
