FAQs

I am a Chinese national, and I don't have permission to work in the UK. Can I apply for the China programme even though it involves a secondment to the UK?
Yes. We will work with you to get the appropriate permission to work for the duration of your secondment.

Is there any help available for my move from China to the UK?
We recognise that the secondment is a significant move, and our Global Mobility team will help with contacts for accommodation and transport and give advice on arrangements for medical care and personal finances. You will, however, be responsible for making these arrangements yourself.

What happens at the end of the secondment to the UK?
You and your Early Career Development Advisor will work closely with the HR team for China to prepare for your return in the 12 months before the end of your secondment. You will receive a repatriation bonus and accommodation support to help you settle in, as well as help in relocating your belongings.

Can I stay in the UK beyond the end of my training programme?
It's not likely. Permission to work will be sought for the duration of your training programme and will expire at the end. The intention of this programme is for graduates to return to China to take up their first professional roles in the company.
