Most of the parts for every Rolls-Royce engine are sourced externally

Around 70% of the value of the parts that comprise a Rolls-Royce engine come from other manufacturers. When you then consider that a Trent engine, for example, contains up to 18,000 separate parts, you get an idea of how important our purchasing and supply chain teams are to our success.

We manage a network of 660 preferred suppliers and a total of over 8,000 suppliers around the world. We ensure that products are delivered on-time and to agreed standards. We do this by managing every aspect of the supply chain process, from identifying the raw materials to overseeing the actual delivery.

As high as our expectations are for our suppliers, they’re even higher for ourselves. Not only do we strive to keep down operating costs through simpler, better process solutions, but we’re continually moving closer to our ultimate aim of ensuring that Rolls-Royce is driven by standard processes, no matter which country we’re operating in.
