14-19 work experience placements

The importance of having a future supply of well educated, enthusiastic, highly skilled people is critical to our success in an increasingly competitive global market. To Rolls-Royce, providing quality work experience placements is one element of enabling students to be able to make informed career decisions and ultimately aim to attract potential students into the world of Engineering and/or Rolls-Royce.

Rolls-Royce supports a range of work experience placements, for clarification on the types of placements we accommodate, please see the 14 – 19 work experience placement types.

Important information

We are no longer accepting applications for Academic Year 2012 – 2013.

Applications for Academic Year 2013 – 2014 will be open week commencing 10th June 2013. This is for one-week placements between September 2013 and July 2014 for 14 – 19 year olds.

Rolls-Royce's 14-19 work experience strategy is to support placements for students in compulsory or Government funded full-time training or education, to undertake a one-week experience of the working environment to broaden knowledge and experience of the work placement. Students must have a genuine interest in Rolls-Royce and/or engineering in order to be considered.

Please note: We will endeavour to respond to each applicant individually, however occasionally due to the number of applications we receive this may not be feasible. Submission of an application form does not automatically guarantee a placement, this will depend on a suitable placement being available and is mainly in relation to placements that take place within the academic year, term-time only. It is imperative for insurance purposes that the school/college gives their approval and provides a point of contact during your placement week, without this detail will not be able to consider your application form.

Application forms must be submitted at least four months prior to the placement date, the end date of 1 November 2013 maybe brought forward if there are an exceptional number of application forms. Students under 18 must be within reasonable travelling distance to the Rolls-Royce site.
