The Big Bang
UK Young Scientists' and Engineers' Fair 2010
Rolls-Royce is a major sponsor of the Big Bang - UK Young Scientists' and Engineers' Fair. This year's fair was held in Manchester in March and over 15,000 students aged 9-19 attended plus over 5,000 attended the family day from across the UK. Rolls-Royce supports the Big Bang as we recognise the importance of promoting Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths to young people and careers opportunities in those areas. Our exhibition stand featured a scale model of the Trent 800 and our interactive education resources and games.
Some of our STEM Ambassadors, employees who regularly go in to schools to help with science and engineering lessons, manned the stand and led our workshops, helping to explain how the jet engine works and encouraging students to have a go at building their own jet engine.
